Let’s see. How long haven’t I updated this space? Close to 3 months!

Haven’t been doing much this few weeks. Slacking inside the office, unless some work falls on my desk, if not, I’m literally wasting time over at AFRC. Take it as a break from the sucky, highly disciplined NS life? You bet! “Ben, where you going next?” . So many people have been asking me this question, and I think I’ve answered this tons of times. I don’t know what’s in for me. Still waiting for the next posting to come. By then, it’ll be goodbye air force, hello army. AGAIN!

I sometimes really wonder. What went wrong? Literally. Dumb reasons like “failed medical” is sure a very good reason cum excuse to kick someone out yeah? I guess I’m so near yet so far away from officership. Will I still return to OCS?

Tend to feel so jealous seeing those people out there with a chocolate donned on them. Will I get this chance?

First of my life

NS was where all my first time started. Will never forget the times spent in Tekong, with all the commanders, and talking cock with bunkmates.

Talking about first time. HAHA. Did alot of my first during the 24km route march yesterday. It’s the first time I’ve walked 24km in my life, with all of the nonsense on my back. First time to walk on the Sheares Bridge. First time to lie and sleep on the F1 starting point. First time standing on the Marina Floating Platform. These bitter sweet memories will stay. Almost forever.

The next phase will start soon, and we’re moving on to another way of life.

BMTed.

Time flies. No, it sprints! Seriously, 16 weeks of training ended just like that. And soon, I’ll be standing proudly on Marina Floating Platform doing my Graduation Parade.

By right, I should feel so happy that this phase of life is finally ending soon, and I don’t have to return to that cute little island called Tekong anymore. But, I can’t seem to feel happy over it. Too much memories left there that I can’t bring back like all my other barang-barangs. Not forgetting my buddies that accompanied me through the toughest time during training.

And now we’re finally gonna go in different directions, trying to guess what life had installed for us yet again.

Thank you Tekong for giving me the best memories in 20 years of my life.

Future

Well, the word have been going through my mind since monday. Seriously, how should I deal with my future? 2 years of NS life is just a phase of life to settle down and really start thinking what do I really want.

Expressed interest in RSAF, Navy and Army. But at the end of the day, what should I really do? How should I decide?

Signing on or not have been inside my mind every night, before falling asleep. A 5 years bond seems long, but if the vocation is really what I like most, then it shall pass very quickly. But, how do I know if it’s really what I want?

再现一条龙！

生了一个礼拜的大病之后，终于在昨天晚上痊愈了。体温并没有再升高，终于不用担心会缺席明天的 training 了。就像是我在 facebook 上所说的一样，非常怀念当年念书时，拿 MC 似乎是非常开心的一件事。慢慢踏入现实的社会后发现，MC 并非是好事，拿 MC 还得选时间。

这两天让我发现，人在生病的时候非常需要家人和朋友的关心。在 Tekong 受训时，加上发烧，真的感觉好寂寞。因为没有人有这个义务来照顾你、关心你。但回到家就不同了，妈妈的关心的照顾让我心中感到非常的温暖，或许是这样吧，病魔才会被我击退！

我还是得大声地说：“妈妈！谢谢你！”。

明天就要展开九个星期的 BMT 训练。继续地加油！继续地努力！还剩下最后的九个星期了！

Human Interaction

As the title suggests, human interaction. Is it easy? Well, to me, it’s just how you treat the ones beside, or even close to you. You treat them well, they’ll treat you well.

Simple as that.

But, some people just can’t seem know this easy fact. In fact, came across this two folks. Seriously, do they think that everyone in the world owes it to them? Why must we talk according to your emotions? Why must we be so careful when talking to you.

Well, this guy that I know apparently made the whole ‘room’ upside down. When will he learn? When will he know that he isn’t living in a bungalow? And the other, worse off. Basic respect as a junior to a senior. Don’t he know that? Or worst still, was he thought with that idea from young? Does making the whole lot of us whirl around with you little bit of emotions? I don’t think so. And this wouldn’t last long.

Tekong Boys

Well, shoosh went the time and I’m left with 75% of my time in Tekong. Tekong Boys is the term the section mates came up. Ok. It was my idea. (As usual, stupid ideas have to come out from my mouth).

NS wasn’t as bad as it seems after. Maybe I’ve imagined it to be so bloody serious, no joke place. Which in fact, wasn’t true. Do you job well, and you won’t get punished. Simple as that.

But, living in Tekong is really a teamwork. No one can work alone. But still, some selfish folks just like to think of themselves. How will they survive? I wonder.

Getting used to the 10pm – 5am sleep. Getting used to the 6am, 11am and 5pm meals. Sometimes, you’ll just have to make do with what you are given. 4 months will end in like….. 3 more months time. And hopefully, I’ll reach my designation that I wanted.

well, i’m quite certain that i might spend tonight looking at this computer screen. i’m sure that i won’t be able to fall asleep from the excitement, the feeling of nervous, and every feeling under the sun.

especially, when you are not really feeling too well. i wouldn’t want to get a MC tomorrow. so i truly hope that i’m gonna recover by tonight. my mouth still lingers that bitter taste of panadols and antibiotics. yuck!

the two years of NS life will start in less than 24 hrs, what is installed for me? …. i don’t know.

wei just told me that there is a new unit to consider after BMT. OCT. should i go all the way for it? wonders….

decisions

Date check: 20th  May.

Getting increasingly busy as the enlistment date draws nearer. What needs to be bought, what needs to be prepared….. has been the question of the day. Mum and Daddy will always go: “Have you bought this, have you bought that?”. and answer will always be: “NO. NOT YET”.

Well, that’s just the beginning. the decision making shall come soon. relatives and friends have been telling me to go all the way during BMT, so as to emerge as a OCS qualified recruit. SHALL I?

The upcoming four months shall decide where I’m going next. Get into OCS, and sign on after the bloody 2 years in SAF. which means steady pay till retirement. but price for that? go all the way during BMT.

oh. and ya, you’re now looking at a graduand’s blog. well, why? i’ve just graduated.

the new phase of life….. coming in 14 days.

突然觉得自己的生活越来越无趣… 除了做工, 就是NP, 要不然就是用电脑, 要要不然就是看电视.

像今天, 难得有leave, 还得自作孽, 跑回NPCC帮忙. 啊呀! 算了, 反正这样的日子也剩不多了.

到数现在即使开始. 还有一个月!!!
